About logic grid puzzles

Logic grid (matrix) puzzles ask the solver to cross-reference clues until each item from one category lines up uniquely with items from the other categories. The grid is the working surface: a tick or cross in every cell means the puzzle is solved.

This tool focuses on the printable side. You set up the grid template, add labels and clues, and the PDF lays everything out cleanly so the puzzle is ready for handouts.

What you can customise

  • Grid size from 3×3 up to 5×7.
  • Custom factor names (such as Person, Day, Pet).
  • Custom item labels in every row and column.
  • Optional results page with a matching answer table.

Helpful tips

  • Start with a 3×3 or 4×4 grid for new solvers.
  • Write your clues so that at least one cell can be filled in directly to give a starting point.
  • Print the results page on the back so it stays out of the way during solving.

Limits to keep in mind

The generator does not check whether your clues produce a single valid solution; you set the clues yourself. Test the puzzle once before sharing.
