Worked example

Say you are running an animals topic in Year 2. Pick the Animals pack, set word count to 10, choose RANDOM, keep difficulty on MEDIUM, and toggle on the answer key. The engine scrambles ten words from the default list — ELEPHANT might become PHAELENT, GIRAFFE might become FAREGIF, and so on — then prints a clean two-column worksheet with answer lines next to each scramble.

Flip the download to Both and the second page lists every scramble alongside its original word, ready for the teacher to mark.

Methodology

The generator loads the chosen theme pack, selects your chosen number of words using FIRST or RANDOM selection, and scrambles each word using a letter-shuffle routine. With Avoid original enabled it re-shuffles up to twelve times until the scrambled spelling differs from the source word; short words of fewer than three letters are passed through unchanged because there is nothing meaningful to scramble. The print layout uses the shared PrintablesWorld branded template, and the optional answer key is produced on a separate page so you can hand out the puzzle without the solutions.
