Print Reusable Hall Pass Tickets for Any Classroom

Run out of hall passes? Generate a clean sheet of printable hall-pass tickets in seconds, personalised with your school or class name.

Each page is a multi-up grid of identical tickets with fields for pupil name, destination, time out, time in and teacher initials. Print in A4 or US Letter PDF, laminate for reuse with a dry-wipe pen, or keep a stack on the desk and tear one off as needed.

This hall pass printable is designed for teachers, cover staff, tutors and homeschool co-ops who want a tidy, official-looking pass without designing one from scratch.

Why use this hall pass generator?

A consistent pass cuts down on disputes about who has permission to leave the room and when. Use this tool to produce passes for:

  • toilet and water breaks
  • trips to the office or nurse
  • library and reading-corner visits
  • supply-cupboard and resource errands
  • cover lessons where routines are unfamiliar
  • corridor monitoring and late arrivals
  • whole-school rollout across year groups

Because every ticket carries the same branded header, staff across the school can recognise a valid pass at a glance.

What you can customise

The generator keeps options simple so you can print and go:

  • Passes per page: 4 for a roomier layout or 6 for more economical printing
  • School or class name: prints inside the header band on every ticket
  • Paper size: A4 or US Letter
  • Header label: re-word it as Corridor Pass, Toilet Pass or Office Pass if preferred
  • Optional colour accent that matches the shared branded template

Every pass is identical within the sheet, so cutting and sorting afterwards is painless.

Notes and limitations

  • Choose 6-up if you plan to laminate and reuse — smaller tickets waste less pouch material.
  • The time fields are blank by design so a dry-wipe pen can be wiped off between pupils.
  • Use 4-up if younger pupils need more space to write their names clearly.
  • Printed colours can vary slightly by printer; black-and-white printing still produces a tidy, readable ticket.

Who these passes are for

The template suits any setting where pupils occasionally need to leave the room.

Parents

Useful for homeschool co-ops and group sessions where several families share a space and want a shared rule about leaving the room.

Teachers

Print a class set at the start of term, laminate and keep in a tray by the door. Cover staff can use the same passes without training.

Homeschool families

Good for structured learning days, especially when pupils attend a shared study space or group tuition session.

Tutors

Tutoring centres running back-to-back sessions can use a branded pass to route pupils around the building during breaks.

Layout options

4 passes per A4 page

Roomy tickets with generous space for handwriting. Best for younger pupils and for settings where pupils keep the pass in their pocket for the duration of the trip.

6 passes per A4 page

Compact layout, ideal for laminated reusable passes kept in a desk tray. Best for secondary classrooms and for schools that want a durable class set.

Laminated reuse

Print, laminate, and use a dry-wipe pen. Because the pass is blank when returned, the same ticket is ready for the next pupil.

How to use the tool

  1. Type your school or class name into the header field.
  2. Choose 4 or 6 passes per page.
  3. Pick A4 or US Letter as the paper type.
  4. Click Generate Hall Passes.
  5. Preview the sheet in the browser.
  6. Download the PDF and print at 100% scale.
  7. Cut along the gridlines with scissors or a guillotine.
  8. Optionally laminate each ticket for reusable dry-wipe passes.

Worked example

A Year 5 teacher wants a laminated class set of corridor passes. She types "Oakwood Primary — Year 5" into the header field, selects 6 passes per A4 page and picks A4 paper. The resulting PDF shows a 2×3 grid of identical tickets, each with the school name across the top and blank rows for pupil name, destination, time out, time in and teacher initials.

She prints two copies, laminates them, guillotines along the gridlines and drops the twelve passes into a small tray by the classroom door. From that point on, pupils grab a pass, fill it in with a dry-wipe pen, and return it when they come back.

Methodology

The engine arranges tickets as a fixed grid on a single page using the shared branded template. Each ticket is a self-contained block with a header band that prints your school name, a body with labelled rows for the required fields, and a subtle border that survives guillotining. Because every tool on the site uses the same PDF template, the header typography, colour accent and footer watermark all stay consistent with the rest of your printed classroom resources.

Helpful preset ideas

  • 6-up with school name for laminated reuse
  • 4-up for younger pupils who need more writing space
  • Header re-labelled "Toilet Pass" for EYFS settings
  • Header re-labelled "Office Pass" for secondary routines
  • Cover-teacher stack kept in a supply folder
  • Class-specific names for house or team tracking

Best ways to use hall passes in class

  • Agree corridor expectations at the start of term and tie them to the pass.
  • Laminate once and reuse rather than reprinting every week.
  • Store in a tray by the door so pupils serve themselves.
  • Keep a spare stack in your cover folder for supply staff.
  • Review pass data occasionally to spot patterns or individual concerns.

Designed for A4 and US Letter printing

The generator supports both A4 and US Letter so UK, Irish, Australian and North American schools can print at 100% scale without margin surprises. The layout rescales each ticket to fit the chosen page size, keeping margins and the branded header band consistent.

FAQs

Quick answers

How many passes do I get per page?

Choose 4 or 6 per A4/Letter page. Four is roomier for handwriting; six uses less paper.

Can I put our school name on them?

Yes. Type a school or class name and it prints inside the header band on every pass.

Can I laminate them for re-use?

Yes. Print, laminate, and write with a dry-wipe pen — the fields are designed to be filled in repeatedly.

Are the tickets easy to cut?

Tickets are arranged in a 2-column grid with clear borders, so a guillotine or scissors cut cleanly between them.
