Make your own printable bookmarks

Bookmarks are one of the most useful little classroom and home printables — they reward reading, mark a child's place, and make a quick craft activity. This generator lays out several bookmark rectangles on a single page, each with a dashed cut line so they are easy to snip out cleanly. Add your own title and a favourite quote, choose a border style, and print as many copies as your group needs.

Because every bookmark comes off the same branded template, the layout stays neat and consistent whether you print four narrow bookmarks or a single wide one.

Decorate and customise

• Bookmarks per page — set the number of columns and rows to make narrow strips or wide cards.
• Border style — solid, double, dashed, or dotted decorative frames.
• Title band — a header on every bookmark, such as "This book belongs to".
• Quote — add a short reading quote centred near the top.
• Ruled lines — space to write a name, a goal, or a favourite line.
• Punch hole — a marked circle for threading a ribbon or tassel.

How to use it

1. Choose how many bookmarks you want across and down the page.
2. Pick a border style and type a title and optional quote.
3. Toggle ruled lines, the Name field, and the punch hole.
4. Preview the live PDF, then download or print on A4 or US Letter.
5. Cut along the dashed lines, decorate, and add a ribbon through the hole.

Ideas for the classroom and home

Use blank bookmarks as a colouring activity, hand them out as reading-challenge rewards, or print a set with the class motto for the start of term. At home they make a quick rainy-day craft — children write their name, draw on the border, and thread a ribbon. Laminate them for a longer-lasting keepsake, or print on card for a sturdier finish.

Print tips

For the cleanest cut, print at 100% scale (not "fit to page") so the dashed lines stay accurate. Card stock holds up better than copier paper if the bookmarks will be used daily. If you plan to add a ribbon, keep the punch hole toggle on and use a standard hole punch on the marked circle once the bookmark is cut out.
