Create Printable Multiplication Tables Worksheets for Home and Classroom Use
Produce free printable multiplication tables worksheets from 1 × 1 up to 12 × 12. Pick a specific times table or the full range, choose a tidy grid or a line-by-line layout, and download a print-ready PDF.
This generator outputs A4 or US Letter PDFs with the problems in order — perfect for introducing a new times table, building recall and revising before a test. Download a blank sheet, an answer key, or both.
Useful for teachers, parents, tutors and homeschoolers working through the times tables systematically.
Why use this multiplication tables generator?
Times tables are the single biggest predictor of later KS2 maths success. Learners need to see each table in order first, to notice the patterns (doubling, counting in fives, the 9’s finger trick) before moving to shuffled recall. This generator produces fresh in-order sheets for:
- Year 2 through Year 6 (UK) times-tables teaching
- Grade 2 through Grade 5 (US) multiplication fluency
- introducing a brand-new times table
- homework sheets aligned to the current table
- UK Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) preparation
- tutor sessions on fact recall
- homeschool maths blocks
Once a table is secure, switch to the Mixed Multiplication Worksheets tool for shuffled recall practice.
What you can customise
- Worksheet style: Table (grid layout) or Line-by-line (vertical list)
- Table range: up to 12 by default; lower the end number to focus on a specific section
- Digit count: keep on 1 for single-digit factors or extend for harder recall
- Use random problems: off by default, so the table prints in order. Turn on to shuffle.
- Download type: Blank, Answers, or Both
- Paper type: A4 or US Letter PDF
- Theme style: alternative visual look
- Font size: Auto or larger for easier reading
- Worksheet title: swap in your own heading
- Name and Date fields: useful for classwork and homework
Notes and limitations
- Problems print in order by default, which makes pattern-spotting easy but also makes sheets predictable. Turn on shuffled mode once the table is known.
- Line-by-line style gives more room to write each answer; Table style packs the full times-tables grid onto the page.
- Answer key is a separate page that can be withheld.
- Print at 100% scale for consistent digit spacing.
Who these worksheets are for
Parents
Introduce or revise a specific times table at home, with answers for quick marking.
Teachers
Classwork, homework and MTC preparation across Year 2 through Year 6.
Homeschool families
Systematic progression through the tables — one a week, with the grid visible throughout.
Tutors
Targeted single-table practice once a diagnostic drill has exposed a weak spot.
Worksheet style options
Table style
A classic grouped grid of facts — ideal for learners who benefit from seeing the table structure at a glance.
Line-by-line
Vertical format with one problem per line and room for a written answer — best for handwriting practice and for very structured homework.
How to use the tool
- Choose Table or Line-by-line layout.
- Set the end number to focus on a specific table (e.g. 7 for the 1–7 range) or leave at 12 for the full grid.
- Leave Use random problems off for an in-order sheet; turn on for shuffled practice.
- Show or hide Name and Date fields.
- Select Blank, Answers or Both.
- Pick A4 or US Letter.
- Click Generate Worksheet, preview, and download the PDF.
Worked example
To introduce the seven-times table, pick Line-by-line, set the end number to 7 (or leave at 12 for the full grid), keep Use random problems off, and set Download type to Both.
The blank PDF lists 7 × 1, 7 × 2, 7 × 3 … up through 7 × 12 in order, with room for each answer. Learners can spot the pattern (adding seven each time) as they work down the column.
Methodology
The generator prints each selected table in order by default: 1 × n, 2 × n, 3 × n, and so on. When Use random problems is enabled, the order is shuffled. Output is produced through the shared branded PDF template so headers, watermark and QR match every other worksheet on the site.
Helpful preset ideas
- End number 5, Line-by-line, answers on — introducing the 2s, 5s and 10s
- End number 12, Table style, answers on — full times-tables reference sheet
- Line-by-line with Name and Date on — structured homework
- Shuffled mode once the table is known — transition step before using Mixed Multiplication Worksheets
Best ways to practise multiplication tables
- Teach one table at a time; do not jump ahead until the current table is secure.
- Start with the pattern in order, then shuffle.
- Use short daily sessions rather than long weekly ones.
- Chant, write and listen — rotate the modes.
- Celebrate progress with a weekly score, not just “right or wrong”.
Designed for A4 and US Letter Printing
Grid spacing, digit width and margins are tuned for both A4 and US Letter paper. Whichever size your printer uses, the full 1–12 grid fits cleanly on a single sheet with room for handwritten answers.

FAQs
Quick answers
Which tables does it cover?
By default, the full 1-12 times tables. Use the end-number control to limit the range.
Can I show the answers?
Yes. Switch the output to "Answers" or "Both" to print a filled version alongside the blank one.
Grid layout or line-by-line?
Either. The "Table style" lays out grouped facts; "Line-by-line" gives a long vertical column of problems.
Is there a Name and Date area?
Yes. Toggle "Show Name & Date fields" to include a header row at the top of each sheet.
