Create Printable Mixed Multiplication Worksheets for Home and Classroom Use
Produce free printable mixed multiplication worksheets that pull random questions from across the times tables you choose. Ideal for timed drills and for testing genuine recall — not just reciting one table in order.
This generator outputs A4 or US Letter PDFs in either a tidy table layout or a long line-by-line format. Download a blank sheet, an answer key, or both.
Useful for teachers, parents, tutors and homeschoolers running weekly times-tables practice or preparing learners for the UK Multiplication Tables Check.
Why use this mixed multiplication generator?
Reciting the six-times table in order is different from recalling 6 × 8 under pressure. Mixed practice is where real fluency shows up. This generator produces fresh shuffled sheets for:
- Year 3 through Year 6 (UK) times-tables recall
- Grade 3 through Grade 5 (US) multiplication fluency
- UK Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) preparation
- weekly timed drills
- homework sheets
- tutor diagnostics
- homeschool maths blocks
What you can customise
- Worksheet style: Table (grouped cards) or Line-by-line (long vertical list)
- Table range: up to 12 by default; lower the end number to focus on smaller tables
- Download type: Blank, Answers, or Both
- Paper type: A4 or US Letter PDF
- Theme style: alternative visual look
- Font size: Auto or larger for easier reading
- Worksheet title: swap in your own heading
- Name and Date fields: useful for classwork and timed drills
Notes and limitations
- Each problem is pulled randomly from the selected table range, so no two sheets are identical.
- The tool does not lock to a single times table — it is a mixed drill by design. For single-table practice, use the Multiplication Tables Worksheet tool.
- Line-by-line style supports up to about twenty-four problems per page; Table style packs more in via grouped cards.
- Print at 100% scale for consistent digit spacing.
Who these worksheets are for
Parents
Weekly timed drills for home, with an answer key for quick marking.
Teachers
Warm-ups, morning work, MTC practice, and weekly fluency assessments across KS2.
Homeschool families
Graded practice, starting with smaller tables and scaling up to the full 12 × 12 grid.
Tutors
Diagnostics to spot which facts a learner still hesitates on.
Worksheet style options
Table style
Grouped cards that fit many problems onto one page — ideal for timed drills and dense practice.
Line-by-line
Traditional vertical layout with room for a written answer beside each problem — cleaner for handwriting and early MTC-style practice.
How to use the tool
- Choose Table or Line-by-line layout.
- Leave the end number at 12 for full-range practice, or lower it to focus on smaller tables.
- Show or hide Name and Date fields.
- Select Blank, Answers or Both.
- Pick A4 or US Letter.
- Click Generate Worksheet, preview the page, and download the PDF.
Worked example
For a weekly Year 4 timed drill, pick Table style, keep the end number at 12, turn Name and Date fields on, and set Download type to Both.
The blank PDF produces a dense grid of problems such as 7 × 8, 12 × 6 and 4 × 9 — drawn randomly from the full 1–12 range. Give learners two or three minutes, then mark from the answer sheet.
Methodology
The generator draws each problem at random from the selected table range (1 up to the chosen end number), with both factors sampled independently. Problems are rendered through the shared branded PDF template. Every click of Generate reshuffles the selection, so printing a stack gives a genuinely varied drill set.
Helpful preset ideas
- End number 5, Line-by-line — early Year 3 introduction
- End number 10, Table style, answers on — Year 4 weekly drill
- End number 12, Table style, answers on — MTC practice for Year 4
- End number 12, Line-by-line — cleaner layout for handwriting practice
Best ways to practise mixed multiplication
- Time the drill — aim for accuracy first, then speed.
- Track weekly scores to make progress visible.
- Focus on the three or four facts a learner keeps missing rather than the whole grid.
- Mix written practice with oral “quickfire” drills.
- Alternate Table style (density) with Line-by-line (handwriting) to keep sessions varied.
Designed for A4 and US Letter Printing
Grid spacing, digit width and margins are tuned for both A4 and US Letter paper, so timed drills print cleanly in the UK, Europe, North America and beyond.

FAQs
Quick answers
How are the problems selected?
Each problem is drawn at random from the table range you choose, so no two sheets are identical.
Can I get answers too?
Yes. Switch the output mode to "Answers" or "Both" to print a filled version alongside the blank one.
How many problems per sheet?
Adjustable — the line-by-line layout supports up to about 24 problems; the table layout groups them into cards.
Is this good for timed drills?
Yes. Print a stack and use a timer to track speed and accuracy week by week.
