The note that cannot be left in the bag
A letter home is a letter that gets crumpled into the bottom of a book bag and found on Sunday. A band round a wrist is read by whoever collects the child, in the playground, without anybody having to remember anything.
Each band is a long thin strip with a dashed cut line and, if you want it, a slot and a tab so it fastens by tucking rather than by staple or sticky tape. Type the message, print a class set, hand them out at the door.
Several reminders on one sheet
The main message goes on every band. Add extra lines and they cycle across the page, so a single sheet can carry three different reminders at once without you printing three times.
That is what you want on a Friday, when four children need the library reminder, six need the PE kit one, and everybody needs the trip letter. One print run rather than three.
Bands per page runs from one to twelve. Eight is the default and is comfortable; twelve gives narrow bands that suit a short message and small wrists, and one gives a single strip across the sheet, which is a poster more than a wristband.
Slot and tab, borders, star ends
The fastener is on by default and it is the feature worth keeping. A marked slot at one end, a tab at the other, snip the slot and tuck the tab through. No staples near a child's wrist, and nothing that needs an adult's help to put on.
Borders come in four styles. Solid, or double, or dashed, or dotted, with double as the default. Star ends are off, and they are the one purely decorative control here: switch them on for a reward band and leave them off for a homework reminder, where looking official is the entire job.
The name line is on by default. Turn it off when a band is going to every child in the class and nobody needs to know whose is whose.

Homework due dates. Reading challenges. Picture day. A permission slip that has not come back. Behaviour rewards, which is the use that turns a paper strip into something a six-year-old will keep in a drawer for a year.
At home they work for chores. For medication. For appointments, and as party favours with a birthday message on them. Print on coloured paper to code by class or by day, and let children decorate the band before they wear it, because a band they have coloured in is a band that stays on.
Cutting and lasting
Print at full scale. Fit-to-page shifts the slot away from the tab by a millimetre or two, and the fastener stops working.
Plain paper is fine for a reminder that has one day to live. For anything expected to survive a school day and a walk home, print on card, or run a strip of clear tape down the band before cutting so it does not tear at the fold. If the fastener is switched off, a small piece of tape does the same job less elegantly.

How do the wristbands fasten without staples?
Keep the slot-and-tab toggle on. Each band prints with a marked slot at one end and a shaded tab at the other. Once the band is cut out, snip the slot, wrap the band around the wrist, and tuck the tab through the slot. If you prefer, turn the toggle off and use a small piece of tape instead.
Can I put a different reminder on each band?
Yes. Type your main message, then add extra lines in the "More messages" box. One reminder per line. The lines rotate across the bands so a single page can carry several different reminders, which is handy for mixed homework or class notices.
How many wristbands fit on a page?
You choose between four and twelve bands per page. Fewer bands give you wider, roomier strips with larger text; more bands give you compact strips for short reminders or a whole class in one print run.
What paper should I use?
Plain paper is fine for a same-day reminder. For something that lasts the school day on a wrist, print on card stock, or lay a strip of clear tape along each band before cutting so it resists tearing.
