A clean one-page weekly timesheet you can print and fill in by hand

The weekly timesheet is a printable sheet that lays out a full working week on a single page. A short header captures the essentials — name, week starting date and manager — then a row per day records time in, time out, break and total hours. A total box at the bottom sums the week, and an optional signature line lets the employee and manager sign it off.

Choose weekly (seven days) or biweekly (fourteen days for a fortnightly pay period), print in A4 or US Letter, and start tracking hours the simple way — with a pen.

Why use a printable timesheet?

Time-tracking apps are convenient, but a paper timesheet still wins in plenty of situations: a signal-free job site, a small business that pays cash-in-hand, a contractor who bills by the day, or a household that wants a simple record of a cleaner's or nanny's hours. Use this sheet for:

  • hourly employees logging a weekly shift pattern
  • freelancers and contractors recording billable time for invoices
  • small businesses that run payroll from paper records
  • trades and site work where a phone is impractical
  • household staff — cleaners, nannies, carers — keeping an agreed record
  • volunteers and interns tracking hours for a supervisor to sign

Once the week is filled in and signed, photograph it or transfer the totals to payroll — the record lives on paper and needs no login.

What you can customise

  • Page title: default "Weekly Timesheet" or rename it for a department, client or project
  • Period: weekly (Monday to Sunday) or biweekly (two full weeks on one page)
  • Signature line: turn the employee and manager sign-off row on or off
  • Paper size: A4 or US Letter PDF

How the columns work

Day and Date

Each row is pre-labelled Monday through Sunday. Write the calendar date next to the day so the sheet is unambiguous for payroll.

Time In and Time Out

Record the start and finish of the working day. Use whichever clock format your workplace prefers — 24-hour or am/pm.

Break and Total Hours

Note unpaid break time, then subtract it from the elapsed time to get the day's total hours. Add the daily totals into the weekly total box at the bottom.

Weekly total and sign-off

The total box beneath the table gives you a single place to write the week's hours — the number payroll actually needs. When the signature line is enabled, the employee confirms the hours are accurate and the manager approves them, each with a date. That signed line is what turns a worksheet into an auditable record.

Notes and limitations

  • This is a printable worksheet, not a fillable or calculating PDF. There are no formulas — you add up the hours yourself, which keeps it universal and offline.
  • Biweekly fits fourteen day-rows on one page; the rows are naturally shorter, so write compactly.
  • Print at 100% scale so the columns stay aligned and the total box lines up under the table.
  • For overtime or multiple rates, note them in the Total Hours cell or on the reverse — the sheet keeps a single hours column by design.

How to use the tool

  1. Enter a title or keep the default.
  2. Pick weekly or biweekly.
  3. Turn the signature line on or off.
  4. Select A4 or US Letter.
  5. Preview the sheet, then download the PDF and print at 100% scale.
  6. Fill in the header, log each day's hours, total the week and sign off.

FAQs

Quick answers

What is the difference between the weekly and biweekly options?

Weekly prints seven day-rows (Monday to Sunday) on one page. Biweekly prints fourteen day-rows — two full weeks — for a fortnightly pay period, with a light divider between the two weeks.

Which columns are on the timesheet?

Each day-row has Day, Date, Time In, Time Out, Break and Total Hours. A weekly total box sits beneath the table.

Does the sheet add up the hours for me?

No — it prints as a clean worksheet you fill in by hand. There are no formulas, which keeps it universal, offline and printer-friendly. You total the daily hours yourself in the total box.

Can I remove the signature line?

Yes. The signature line is a toggle. Turn it off if you do not need employee and manager sign-off, and the table simply extends to use the extra space.

Which time format should I use?

Either 24-hour or am/pm works — the Time In and Time Out cells are blank, so use whichever your workplace prefers. Just be consistent across the week.

Is this suitable for contractors and freelancers?

Yes. Log billable hours per day, total the week, and attach the signed sheet to an invoice. The title can be renamed for a specific client or project.

What paper sizes are supported?

A4 and US Letter. Print at 100% scale so the columns and the total box stay aligned.
